Turnkey EPC Solutions

EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) brings engineering, procurement and construction together within a single project framework. For waste- and biomass-fired energy plants, Bersey coordinates design, manufacturing, site installation and commissioning.

Work packages are planned together, from process requirements and plant layout to equipment selection and site execution. Procurement, installation and commissioning responsibilities are defined according to each project’s needs and the agreed contractual scope.

Project scope

  • Engineering and design: process requirements, basic and detailed engineering, PFDs, P&IDs and plant layout.
  • Procurement and manufacturing: supply and production of boilers, process equipment and auxiliary systems included in the contract.
  • Site installation and supervision: equipment positioning, mechanical erection and coordination of site works.
  • Mechanical and automation integration: coordinated consideration of piping, controls and instrumentation, safety and interlock systems.
  • Project coordination: management of technical work packages and interfaces between engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and site teams.

Commissioning and handover

Following mechanical completion, cold and hot commissioning, performance testing and plant start-up are carried out as defined in the project scope. Technical documentation and handover are completed in line with the responsibilities specified in the contract.

Piping & Pipe Stress Analysis

Determination and 3D modeling of the safest, most economical and efficient routes for piping used in process and auxiliary systems, along with engineering analysis of stresses caused by pressure, temperature, weight, expansion, vibration and external loads.

  • 3D pipe routing design and modeling (with CAD/CAE software)
  • Coordinated line planning with equipment layouts
  • Stress calculations per ASME, EN, ANSI, API standards
  • Analysis of thermal, static and dynamic loads
  • Computer-aided modeling with ROHR2 and similar software
  • Support design and optimization for critical points
  • Preparation of result reports and project documentation

Application and design

Piping routes are modelled together with equipment, valves, supports and instrumentation. Stress analysis evaluates temperature changes, weight and external loads; nozzle loads and support reactions are checked and carried into fabrication and installation documentation.

Heat & Strength Calculations

We assess the thermal performance and mechanical strength of boilers, heat exchangers and pressure vessels within a common design framework. Operating pressure and temperature, fluid properties, flow rate, materials and equipment geometry form the calculation inputs. The design code and load cases are defined for the project scope.

Thermal calculations examine heat duty, heat transfer and temperature distribution; strength calculations assess their implications for materials, wall thicknesses and connections. Where needed, CFD and finite element analyses support detailed assessment of flow, temperature, stress and deformation.

  • Heat balances, heat transfer and heating-surface assessment for boilers and heat exchangers
  • Strength checks against the ASME, EN or AD 2000 design rules selected for the project
  • Stress and deformation assessment under pressure, temperature and mechanical loads
  • Effects of thermal expansion and restraints, with fatigue checks where required for cyclic service
  • Assessment of material properties at design temperature, required wall thicknesses and critical regions
  • Reporting of assumptions, boundary conditions and results; technical support for project review and approval

Design review and deliverables

Calculation results are reviewed alongside fabrication geometry and operating conditions. Necessary design revisions are identified and incorporated into the calculation reports. Deliverables cover methods and codes, material data, load cases, results and assessment against the applicable acceptance criteria, providing a traceable technical basis for project review and fabrication documentation.

Process Equipment Design & Consulting

Engineering design of pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, deaerators, filters and auxiliary equipment per international standards, combined with end-to-end engineering consulting.

  • Technical calculations per process requirements (pressure, temperature, flow)
  • Compliance with ASME, EN, PED, AD 2000 standards
  • 3D modeling and detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Boiler selection, capacity planning and fuel analysis consulting
  • Emission control and efficiency optimization consulting
  • Project management, installation and commissioning technical support

Application and design

Consultancy covers energy generation, combustion technology, process water, gas cleaning and equipment selection. Technical assessments address new plants or modernisation; interfaces between engineering, fabrication, installation and commissioning are defined with the project scope.

After Sales Services & Spare Parts

We provide comprehensive after-sales support, maintenance services and genuine spare parts supply for all delivered systems.

  • Periodic maintenance and inspection services
  • Fault detection, repair and revision works
  • Genuine spare parts supply and logistics support
  • Technical assessment and support using operating data
  • Capacity upgrade and modernization projects
  • Technical guidance for operation and maintenance teams

Application and design

Revision and modernisation needs are assessed from operating conditions and equipment condition. Site findings and technical documentation are considered together when defining maintenance and spare-parts scope.
