A widely used combustion technology where solid fuels are burned in a controlled manner. Fuel is fed onto the grate surface with controlled air supply from below and/or above for complete combustion.
Fuel is fed onto the grate and progresses through drying, gas release and combustion zones. Air distribution is adjusted by zone and ash is discharged. Grate selection considers fuel particle size, moisture and ash behaviour.
A specialized combustion technology for high-efficiency burning of coal dust, wood dust, biomass granules and industrial combustible dusts. Fuel is ground and fed via pneumatic conveying and special burners.
Fuel preparation, metering, conveying air and burner are considered together. Suitable particle size and fuel-air distribution are key combustion chamber design inputs. Fuel feed and combustion control are coordinated with changing process heat demand.
